Design
An intercepter designed to saw in half any target that dare fly In front of them. With that said, I took design inspiration from the Skyrocket for the wing in front of nose design. Quite like the Skyrocket. In general, J like funky planes.
With that said, j took design inspiration from my B-61- for the tail configuration. I also took inspiration from the P-38, at least for the small jutting out canopy.
The design parameters were that of a heavily, heavily armed low to mid altitude intercepter that would target things like the B-25, B-24 and all of the Navy's numerous bombers. Generally, it would force the aircraft to fly high, decreasing altitude. I reckon it could do ground attack well. These are Focke Wulf 190 engines, because in 1942 some FW-190 were sent over for Japanese evaluation including the engines and probably schematics as well. I had originally planned to use the Ki-61 inline engine which is just another German engine but I'm not good at making inline engines.
Play style
Armament: 8x Ho-103 12.7mm heavy machine guns.
You can dogfight in this. Not well, but good enough. The best part is that you can turn fight. When you pitch, you look like a fish. I personally recommend boom and zoom, you get the target in sight, unleash round after round after round, and roll off, making a get away before climbing and closing and repeating. That works best on bombers, who are not well know for dogfights.
For fighters, thing are harder, but still the same. You just have much more head-ons than one would like. The large nose does keep you away from bullets (mostly).
For any target you can't turn fight, you energy fight.
For any target you can't energy fight, you turn fight.
You have an... okay roll rate. Nothing special, bit bad really, but it's is a heavy fighter, so play it as such.
Lore
Right after the Japanese army sent out a request for a high altitude interceptor, they sent out a request for a low altitude interceptor with heavy armament and at least two engines.
Heroinashiba was tasked with this. They used license made and Japanese built FW-190 engines, along with advanced features for 1942 such as a bubble canopy and an odd wing configuration. This wing configuration was so favor by Heroinashiba that they would use it after the war in jet fighters.
The armament packing was heavy and powerful with 8 Ho-103 12.7 mm heavy machine guns. Along with that all the armament was carried in the nose directly in front of the pilot meaning that concentration of fire was high. It also had a secondary role in ground strafing due to the absurd amount of firepower and the fact I could put so many bullets so accurately down so quickly.
However it was quickly out class by Allied fighters who capitalized on its weaknesses such as low roll rate and a general inability for the pilot to see anywhere in front of the nose besides directly ahead meaning that Allied Fighters would approach from underneath the nose and fire through the fuselage and the wings.
Ok lore over.
I hope you enjoy.

@GL740 thanks. I don't know why I even started making my planes with VR, but hey, I'm glad people like them.
Absolutely love how much effort you've put into the cockpit interior.
