The Vendian* Aeronautical Workshop object 103, known as the Machete is an American medium bomber aircraft of the Interwar period.

Development and Operation

The object 103 was sent by the Vendian bureau as an entry to the six month long 1934-1935 the Great Flight of Paris multi-national competition, under the bomber category. The other United State aircraft medium bomber was sent to the competition are the Yellowstone (Mathilda), Canaveral and Vandenberg designs.
Competiton results placed the object 103 at second, placing the Yellowstone design at the first.

The United States Army Air Corps, dire need of modern bombers to complement the B-17 and the B-18, bought 25 aircraft of the respective design bureaus, all four types went into service.

The Vendian bureau recieved its contract to build 140 aircraft on mid-1936, replacing the Martin B-10 from service. The bureau suggested the name of Machete for the aircraft, which the Corps used.

First production aircraft were sent and flown by the contigious forces, praising its handling characteristics, while criticizing it for its sluggish speed (313 km/h TAS at 680 m) at bomb load. Nationalist China planned to order 50 Machetes at 1939 against the Japanese, but it was inferior to the Tupolev and the Heinkel, but still used as a trainer and a bomber. One such aircraft survives up to this day.
Obsolete and used aircraft were sold to the Philippines at 1940, and were used against the Japanese landings on the country, dealing devastating damage to amphibious crafts but is vulnerable to the Rei-sen (Zero) and the slower object-designates (looks like a Claude).
South American countries used the aircraft until 1949.

Walkthrough

(becomes a common military man)

The cockpit should be VR-capable.
So clap clap clap this will be the guide for VR-clad players.
Here is the cockpit, pilots!
bOlO
There is a yoke to grab on. On the pilot side, there are switches to play on. There is the switch for wheel control (AG 7, SmallRotator is inverted) and a lever for gears (Landing Gear).
At your right leg theres the flap (VTOL) lever, the longest one, sire!
Then, the throttle lever (Throttle) is on the center of the instrument panels!
Then, there's the trim lever on the front of the flap lever.

There are instrument panels, the co-pilot has engine controls (cosmetics) , there's the autopilot controls (cosmetics), and yaw pedals to kick on.

For your friend who is a bombardier, he has a basic console!
bOlOboom
P-T denotes previous target, N-T denotes next target, TARGET button is the cycle targeting mode and the red button of terror does its job.

That's it, airmen, mark my words! That's the basics of flying the Machete!

(Beware of inverted flaps at port side)
(I'm not liable for damages at the walkthrough session)
