RainWorld - Leviathan
”The search for answers...”
If you didn’t already know, I’m a fan and a player of the criminally underrated game called RainWorld, a game where you play as a nomadic slug-cat creature that has to survive in a harsh, unforgiving, and mysterious world, filled to the brim with predators of all sorts.
The largest creature in the game (excluding void worms) is the Leviathan, a sea-dwelling creature that has been described by other players as a sentient cybernetic kelp. It boasts massive hydraulic crushers, originally used to manufacture metal parts to create iterators, but are now possessed by a species of carnivorous kelp-like creature. It uses these crushers to grab and instantly pulverize prey items, making a quick and easy meal for the carnivorous plant.
Now, this is just my rendition of the Leviathan‘s description, as some other players have described the Leviathan as a massive worm-like creature, that is more fleshy than it is plant-like. Although that wouldn’t explain how it has massive hydraulic crushers, it’s not like those would just grow on the Leviathan’s face as if they were a physical part of the Leviathan’s body.
Anyway, the question as to how massive Industrial Grade Hydraulic Crushers got onto what is either a cybernetic kelp creature, or some massive worm creature, is unimportant in this context. What is important, however, is that I made one in SimplePlanes! I apologize if that wasn’t already obvious enough.
Here’s some GIFs of the Leviathan in game:
And here’s some screenshots of the one I made in SimplePlanes, along with some concept art:
Well that was long and tedious, here’s the Controls:
Throttle to move forwards, Pitch to ascend and descend through the water, Yaw to turn, and VTOL to use your massive Hydraulic Crushers. In game, these jaws will pulverize any creature unfortunate enough to find themselves between them. In SimplePlanes however, I’ve tried to grab and destroy stuff with the crushers, but it doesn’t really work very well. Also it’s REALLY HARD to line everything up, only to have something go wrong or you accidentally mess it up.
Well I think I’ve said enough, so imma stop here.
Have Fun or something

You should make more creatures from rain world
I believe this post is what introduced me to rainworld, it was 1 or 2 years ago, and I finally got rainworld like a month ago, I've had a blast so thank you for introducing me to this amazing game

@Tommytheplanes267 thanks
@Tommytheplanes267 Simply throttle up, and use pitch controls respectively.
@Hira629 A Leviathan versus a submarine probably wouldn’t go very well, sure all it would take is one torpedo to severely injure the Leviathan, but the Leviathan is much more agile in water, and could probably inflict some huge damage with its hydraulic jaws.
I think it's a huge sea monster that faithfully reproduces the game!
I want to battle in my submarine :-)
@AWESOMENESS360 b ruh
@rexrexThezion Ohhh, that.
Yeah, in order to make the jaws not flop around when you close them at high speed, I had to modify their weight to be 0, but as an unintentional consequence of that, if you try to bite anything, the jaws have no weight behind them, so they kinda just deform like you’ve described. Sorry, but I don’t think there’s any way around that unfortunately.
@AWESOMENESS360 no, when I try to bite something, the target just moves the jaws around
@rexrexThezion are you talking about how they retract when you move the VTOL Slider down?
@AWESOMENESS360 they just move when you try to bite something, like they're just moved away
@rexrexThezion like they have no part collisions?
@AWESOMENESS360 the jaws just move out of place, like they have no resistance
@rexrexThezion ...
Describe how they deform. Be as specific as you can
@AWESOMENESS360 yes
@rexrexThezion ok then, how so? Are you using high physics?
Oh my Liopleurodon is no ordinary Liopleurodon... it’s a Magical Liopleurodon!!! It’s gonna show us the way🤣@AWESOMENESS360
@AWESOMENESS360 but but but they do deform
@AerialAerialTheSnakeSnake sorry to say this, but the Liopleurodon wouldn’t stand a chance against a Leviathan. Those hydraulic jaws have hundreds of tons of crushing force behind them, and can close almost instantly.
Poor L-39. Anyways I now have something that my Liopleurodon can square off with.@AWESOMENESS360
