AHS-10 War Canoe
WW2 era Scout Seaplane - single engine, ship-borne flying boat scout with variable incidence wing.
A ship-borne scout seaplane, the AHS-10 War Canoe would be used as a fleet scout aircraft capable of anti-submarine operations, light strike, and fleet air defense. It is capable of 284 mph, and stalls around 93 mph (no flaps).
The VTOL axis controls wing incidence. The wing incidence needs to be set to a positive value for takeoff.
Large changes of incidence during flight can be de-stabilizing, so pilots should change the incidence gradually or in steps.
This aircraft often has a high nose down moment, this is due to the high thrust line of the engine, it can to a certain extent be trimmed out. When the throttle is cut, the nose may pitch up.
