F-12 Viper

14.2k Griffon1  4.0 years ago

The F-12 Viper fighter was made by an unknown company in the middle of WWII. The aircraft was quite fast and had good energy retention, but the maneuverability was lacking.
Thus, pilots flew it in a similar way as the P-47, exclusive energy fighting.
The armament is quite good: six .50 caliber machine guns (roughly equivalent to M2 Brownings), and 2 20mm autocannons. It could also carry two 250 lb bombs on wing pylons, but those are not on this model.
Another interesting feature is it's tricycle landing gear. The designer (Me!) was such a fan of the P-39 Airacobra that they added the tricycle landing gear. (Take care on takeoff, as the plane veers a bit to the right on the ground)
The engine is a V-14 engine that outputs roughly 1500 HP.

(I made this ages ago and didn't post it until now. it's the only fleshed-out prop fighter I have made to date.)
