The Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa (reporting name "Oscar") was a Japanese land-based fighter. It was EXTREMELY lightweight and aglile, compared to American planes, anyway. It had unique slightly forward-sweeping winds, and special "butterfly flaps" specifically designed to make it turn better. It was basically a Zero on steroids. There was one problem, though; the armament. It was only armed with two weak .303 guns, which almost always just bounced off the thick armor of the Wildcat and Hellcat.
