[WW2 1946] Hawker Cyclone
The Luftwaffe is gaining strength. More advanced aircraft are striking back at the large formations of Allied bombers over the Third Reich. After a raid on Dresden is badly mauled by new fighters, the Allied command decides to cut all large scale bombing missions. The British Air Ministry asks all major aircraft companies to design a light bomber capable of 'hit and run' style raids. Hawker creates the Cyclone, a small, light but heavily armed jet bomber with a formidable 20mm cannon in the dorsal turret. The RAF orders 250 of them immediately. The Cyclone is a massive success at first, being fast enough to outrun all piston fighters. However, with the arrival of the new Heinkel He-213 jet fighter over the Western Front, the Cyclone starts to take losses. Still, it is an exellent aircraft and much loved by its crews.
CONTROLS: Normal flight controls, VTOL and trim for turret.
