If you want to run fast, I have a piston plane that can go 300 with 200% piston speed, 225 80%, and 160 100%. YOu can check it out. TA-145 TURBO.
Piston engines? The rotors should actually have no maximum limitation on RPM, IF EVERYTHING WORKS PERFETLY-no excess blade angle-maximum 50% for fast one, and 20% for the fastest ones. THe piston engine depends on your device's processing speed and have a very finite rpm. Gearbox? Probably not my choice. Use COGS. Or just make a bigger blade.
I see the things turningbut cannot figure out what do the colored wheels do (probably different gears) but the entire thing appears to be not with much use.

Modded? Not much useful.
I told you, rotators have a fixed maximum speed. Gears can't make the output spin faster, but you can make it spin slower and increase torque.
