Facing the imminent threat of Nazi invasion Great Britains Miles aircraft company designed and built its emergency fighter project in just 65 days. Built of plywood and using a Merlin engine the fighter had better performance than a Hurricane and more endurance than a Spitfire. The RAF however never needed the plane and the Fleet Air Arm tested it as a potential fighter for catapult armed merchant ships, this prototype is painted for the FAA. Given you cant land on a CAMs ship the gear is designed to be jettisoned using group 1.
