Airspeed AS.47
The Airspeed AS.47 was a concept for a twin engined fast bomber designed near the end of WWII, that was an odd cross between the De Havilland Vampire and the Dornier 335 (although neither aircraft had any influence on the design). A wooden mockup was made, but a combination of Aispeed being absorbed by De Havilland and the war ending stopped all development. Today, only some blueprints and a small model exist (the model can be found at the De Havilland Museum in the UK). The design could carry a single 1000lb bomb at very high speeds as the layout meant that there was little drag for a twin-engine aircraft. There was a crew of two - pilot and navigator/bomb aimer - but I didn't model the navigator/bomb aimer as I have no clue where he would have sat. To fly, flick the switches near the engine dials in the cockpit or activate AG1 and AG2 to start the engines. The orange lever or AG3 is for the bomb bay. All other levers are labelled. Also, quick note - the real thing had no guns, but that's not fun, so I added some. Have fun!
