ME-163 Komet

5,312 Static  6.1 years ago

The ME-163 Komet was an experimental German rocket-powered interceptor designed at the end of WW2. It's armament consisted of 2 wing-mounted MK 108 30mm autocannons, capable of ripping a bomber apart with a single burst... if they hit.

It was able to reach an impressive speed of over 300 m/s, an unofficial air speed record unbeatable by other planes for decades.

How to Use:

  • Throttle up to 100%
  • Plane will bounce a few times, keep it level with pitch.
  • As it begins to move forward, pitch up until you leave the ground and start gaining your real speed.

Landing

Landing is the tricky part in this plane. Try to keep it as slow as possible, and land lightly on the skid. This is what the plane historically did, and with enough precision, this can do it as well.

The bomber used in these screenshots is CoolPeach's fantastic B-17.

For my first proper plane in 2.3 years, and my first with fuselage wings, I'm proud. Please go easy on me, and give constructive criticism, I'm still pretty much a novice builder...

@Static pitch is wacky i pull up and it pitches down a tiny bit then hardly pitches up (same thing when reversed) must be the fact that there are no horizontal stabilizer wings

@Megaplanesinc That's weird... have you tried it at Bandit? That's where I've had the most success.

@Megaplanesinc yep, that’s because there isn’t an actual wheel on the front of the plane. Give it a few seconds at 100% and it will start to move forwards.

For some reason when i started the level and throttled up to 100 and absolutely nothing happened
