The Boeing 747-400 is a large commercial wide body passenger/cargo transport aircraft launched by the Boeing Company under the leadership of the US Air Force. It is also the first wide body civil aircraft in the world. From 1970 when it was put into service to the Airbus A380 before it was put into service, the Boeing 747 has maintained the record of the highest passenger capacity aircraft in the world for 37 years
As of March 2013, a total of 1464 Boeing 747 aircraft have been produced, but unfortunately, all 747 series have been discontinued.
