RamboJutter Whitby B1 4.5
Introduction
With the high attrition rates of heavy bombers during the early part of WW2 it was realised that the allied airforces required something different. Here we have the Whitby, designed initially to fly higher and faster than axis fighters it could bomb its targets without the worry of interception. It was powered by 2 Rolls Royce Falcon engines (1.5x as large as the Merlin/Griffon), without the need for heavy gun turrets and associated crew it was much lighter that equivalent aircraft and thus had a much better power to weight ratio.
Later versions were adapted for other tasks once the allies had complete air dominance all types of aircraft where being utilised in strange roles, in this instance 4 cannon were mounted to the fuselage sides to allow for interdiction missions.
Controls
AG1=Start the engines

@Madmaximus I quote from the description above, "Later versions were adapted for other tasks once the allies had complete air dominance all types of aircraft where being utilised in strange roles, in this instance 4 cannon were mounted to the fuselage sides to allow for interdiction missions."
@RamboJutter why is the lore purpose of this airplane it is too unmaneuverable for a dogfight yet it has forward facing guns and no turrets?
Ok @RamboJutter
That’s exactly what I thought lol @AsteroidAsteroidTheBook
Front End Reminds me of your MixMaster... Good looking Bomber!
@LoafOfBread thanks :) it all depends on how its built, I decide on the sceme early in the build do I can make the build around it. Tag me on an unlisted and I'll take a look.
B-25 but epic
Rambo, i adore the camo on ur builds, can u make one on my ju-87? It has 800+ parts
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook no it looks like someone attempted to make a B-15 from memory, with a B-36 cockpit. (If that sounds like an insult, it probably does, and I'm sorry).
It's pretty cool though, the cross section doesn't do the plane justice
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook ah k, i can honestly say that i didnt even know of the existance of that till you linked it, for some reason i dont know a lot of the russian stuff.
@RamboJutter Lol yeah scaled down it looks like a Tu-2/12 with props and a different nose
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook no idea really as the fuselage and wing are based on the Douglas XB-42 Mixmaster with the cockpit based on a Jet Provost and the fins based on a B24 =)
Why does this look like an Americanized Tu-2 with trike gear
