-HISTORY-
The Voisin III or Voisin LA Model Was designed in 1914 and was essentially a better performing version of the 1912 Voisin I.
It was a standard pusher design with the crew in a nacelle at the front with the engine and propeller at the back. It's crew of 2 consisted of an observer and a pilot, The observer was armed with either a Hotchkiss or Lewis machine-gun an a mount above the pilot's head, on later models sometimes a mount was fitted to the leading edge of the upper wing behind the observer so he could more effectively defend the vulnerable rear of the plane.

The Voisin's military career is distinguished, It was the first aircraft to shoot down another in aerial combat (although Pyotr Nesterov a Russian pilot predated this by ramming a German plane) On October the 5th 1914 Sergeant Joseph Frantz and Corporal Louis Quénault of Escadrille VB24 shot down a German Aviatik B.I (a 2 seat reconnaissance biplane), Quénault fired two 48 round magazines at the German aircraft (The german's returning fire with rifles) before his gun jammed and the Frenchman took out his own rifle and continued shooting, probably damaging the control system or wounding or killing the German pilot with a shot, sending the German plane out of control and into the ground.

The Voisin was also a very effective early bomber, It was the backbone of the first French bomber squadrons in 1914 and 1915, It's sturdy construction allowed it to carry 150kg (330Ib) of bombs with later dedicated bomber variants of the plane being able to carry twice this load.

It was also one of the first dedicated ground attack aircraft, with some models of the Voisin III being equipped with 37mm or 47mm cannons

By 1916 the Voisin III was becoming increasingly obsolete and was withdrawn from daytime operations where it was replaced with the Voisin V, but it still continued night bombing raids until late 1917.

Flying guide
- The Voisin III is a very stable aircraft, it is easy to fly!
- Takeoff should be attempted with care in all pusher aircraft as there is a possibility that you will hit the tail on the ground while pitching up to get airborne, therefore a takeoff should be attempted with minimal human input (Basically let it take off by itself or very gently pitch up until it is aloft)
- Landings are easy due to the low flying speed of this aircraft and it's four wheel undercarriage.
-This undercarriage design also allows you to brake without fear of a nose-over.
-The low speed can be an issue if you try doing aerobatics near the ground, even though this plane is almost entirely incapable of aerobatics I know that most people who download planes here start barrel rolling and looping just after takeoff (do not do it, you may crash and the large number of parts exploding may crash your computer too!)
-The plane is slightly unstable in the yaw axis so rudder may need to be used more than normal.

-COMBAT-

It has a gun... but I would not advise any dogfighting due to it's incredibly slow speed and nonexistent agility.

-FEATURES-
- Built using my Traditional Wing-Building method.
- A replica 9 cylinder Salmson water cooledradial engine.
- A replica aviation lewis gun
- A nice cockpit veiw
- This particular plane is an early variant without the more streamlined engine cowling.

ENJOY! :D
