In November 1942, the first prototype was ready. And in December, Prototype number 4 took to the air. And on February 5, 1943, the aircraft was put into service under the code name B-5. In March of the 43rd year, the aircraft was given the name K-5. And on April 5, 1943, 24 K-5 flew a sortie and bombed the Wehrmacht camps. The airfield and several Nazi battalions were destroyed. The enemy's losses were thousands. The USSR lost only 7 to 5 out of 24. The plane turned out to be very good and exceeded all expectations. In this regard, I.V. Stalin personally gave the order to award the order to the entire design staff of 15 headed by the creator of the aircraft Nikifor Alekseevich Belousov.
