KRAKEN: A mythical sea beast something like a cross between a colossal squid and a giant nautilus. Said to be able to draw whole ships beneath the waves or crush their hulls in its powerful tentacles.

+++ TYPE +++
The KRAKEN is a large maritime assault aircraft designed to hunt down and sink capital ships such as cruisers and aircraft carriers. It is armed with two massive beam weapons and four 200mm naval guns, essentially making the KRAKEN a flying battleship. The current "Mark II" version was developed with fewer heavy guns (eight was overkill, and tended to make the plane unstable) and a greatly improved gyro stabilization system to facilitate more accurate fire control.

+++ ACTIVATION GROUPS +++
1 - BOOSTER ENGINES: Engages the CONSTELLATION integrated engine system, which includes an enhanced gyro-stabilization unit (on whenever AG-1 is active), the RADON after-burning boost engines (VTOL bar up), and the anti-gravity GRAVITON VTOL motor (VTOL bar down).
2 - MAIN LASER BATTERY: Activates the KRAKEN's main heavy weaponry, a pair of STAR BEAM pulse-beam gamma-ray cannons.
3 - MAIN PROJECTILE WEAPONS: Four 200mm high explosive cannons (total ammunition: 4000 rounds).
4 - AIR to AIR MISSILES: Activates the FANG advanced AA missile system (Interceptor based; total missile load: 12 units).
5 - AIR to GROUND MISSILES: Activates the CLAW armor piercing missile system (Inferno based; total missile load: 12 units) and the TALON advanced AG cruise missile system (Cleaver based; total missile load: 8 units).
6 - ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS: Activates a set of three STAR FIRE III fore and aft anti-aircraft laser pods, located along the aft elevator wing.
7 - SURFACE ASSAULT LASERS: Activates a pair of ventral mounted METEOR SWARM shard laser arrays.
8 - DEFAULT SYSTEMS: Deactivating this group disconnects the main UMBRA reactor, deactivating all active sensors, as shown by extinguishing the various engine, radar, and running lights.
