DF-3 Fictional US WWII Dive Bomber/Fighter

988 DoggyDev  2.8 years ago

The army was not thrilled with the lack of explosives on the DF-3 so DoggyDev Air and Space cooked up this version. It was introduced in 1942 and mainly operated in the European theater alongside the P-47. This variant was to retain its .50 cal guns and gain a 250 lb bomb and 8 rockets. They were mainly used to supplement larger bombers on bombing runs to cripple the German economy even more. After they released their payloads it wasn’t uncommon to see DF-3 pilots fall into formation with the P-47s and provide extra protection for the bomber formation.
The DF-3 also saw use at the Siege of Berlin to wipe the few remaining Panzers clean of the map. This opened up some breathing room for friendly armor and infantry.

This is a different version of my original DF-3 and will be submitted to a building contest incase my previous two get kicked out for not having enough parts. As with the others it serves for the US counterpart Iosia. They forgot to repaint them after ordering so the USAAF logo is still there.
