The Mark 41 Vertical Launching System (Mk 41 VLS) is a shipborne missile canister launching system which provides a rapid-fire launch capability against hostile threats. The Vertical Launch System (VLS) concept was derived from work on the Aegis Combat System.
History
Refinement of the initial concept of Aegis system in the 1960s continued through the 1960s and 1970s, and the Mk 41 was conceived in 1976. Originally, the system was only intended to fire the RIM-66 Standard missile, but the height of the Mk 41 was increased to accommodate the larger Tomahawk missile. The prototype for the launcher was tested and evaluated on board USS Norton Sound. The first operational launcher was installed aboard USS Bunker Hill.

@Flash0of0green I think it will be difficult to do
@FlyingFox >"what do you mean by having more than one set of salvos? Do I have to add 8 more launchers?"
i have a feeling you can add more salvos not by adding more launch silos but but rather modifying the already existing launch silos to be able to fire another set of missile with out the need to re start. that said it might not be possible with how much detail you put into this. i hope my explanation was a bit more clear.
@FlyingFox oh ok :(
@ppp00000yugdu well actually that's what I originally planned, but it's a bit of a hassle and there will be too many parts, maybe next time
@FlyingFox yeah
@ppp00000yugdu Should I build it with a custom missile?
@Flash0of0green I don't know if it's possible, making it fire sequentially is difficult,And what do you mean by having more than one set of salvos?
Do I have to add 8 more launchers
Can you make an version with SM 2 SM 3 and SM 6?
@FlyingFox do you think it is possible to make a version that uses a revolving system so you can use all 8 hatches but have more then one set of salvo to fire?
