Here's my modern'ish take on the Sikorsky S-38 Amphibion. Fly around the islands of Simple Planes with Katharine Hepburn just like Howard Huges. Take off and land on water or land.
Use VTOL to raise/lower the landing gear if you want. Leaving it down on water landings really makes no difference. Make sure you have the gear lined up just right for ground landings as I couldn't tweak the hinge just the way I wanted it. It is easy to not have the gear lined up just right. This is not an acrobatic plane so go easy on the controls. Enjoy.

Shit wrong plane
I was having the pitching problem that's why I had to add the brake on the top and the jet in the fuselage @Frogulaone

@Liquidfox I was a pain to get it to fly. I originally had the engines up higher trying to replicate the look of the original, but it was way prone to pitching out of control, so I moved them down to center things up a bit and called it "modern'ish"
