GOOSE Ornithopter - Secret Micro Missiles - Mobile Friendly
Reuploading this successor to GOOSE
by GuardianAerospace (such a cool model, thanks again!) - This time mobile friendly, no mods - lasers replaced with micro missles!
It is possible to take off from and land on the ground (no catapault assist needed), as well as water-based take-offs landings, and even has an arrestor hook so you can land on aircraft carriers. The wing flap throttle and position requires a bit of finesse and tweaking for optimal flight under different conditions, but I find it satisfying, especially once you find the sweet spots.
From my last post "
To take off, AG5, then AG1, Throttle up to 100% then increase VTOL to about 50%, then pitch down (pitch is backwards on takeoff). Take off should be short, but you can also get a running start. Throttle controls wingbeat speed, VTOL controls wingbeat range, kind of like a manual propeller situation.
"
AG1 - Enable flapping
AG2 - Arrestor hook
AG5 - Wing folding for takeoff and landing
Throttle - Controls wingbeat speed
VTOL - Controls wingbeat range, or sets fixed wing position when not flapping.
