The badge of USS Star and Stripe

"All hands prepare for battle! Engines on bridge control!"
-Vice Admiral Rambley Brushstroke, the captain of USS Star and Stripe

Overview

The USS Star and Stripe (nicknamed as "Mighty Bate") is the second ship of the Nemesis-class gigacarrier and the mothership of the United States Federation Navy (US Federation Navy or simply US Navy, ship prefix: USS - United States Ship), the ship is really large, even surpassing the US Federation Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Beast. The ship was named after the number one Pro Hero and Superheroine of the United States, Star and Stripe.

With a size of an island and futuristic design, she has 4 takeoff decks and stealth capability. Wide set of defensive and attack facilities, as well as the very large aircraft storage capacity.

She is deployed in Siren War to fight against the hostile terrestrial race known as the Siren, becoming the ultimate firepower of the US Federation Navy and a super weapon plus floating HQ or known as "mothership". Usually, she coming with many escorts, especially come along with B-21 Raider bombers formation on the sky.

Overview - Nemesis-class Gigacarrier

The Nemesis-class is the class of futuristic gigacarrier of the United States Navy during the World War III. The Nemesis-class, with its plethora of armaments, can take in several roles that will be of advantage in case of harsh conditions. The ship can fire projectiles from both its primary and secondary guns, and can repel submarines with its grenade launcher.

Not only being an aircraft carrier, the gigacarrier also act as a super weapon and floating HQ fortress, or known as the "mothership", because of its absurdly massive size and immersive weapon capacity.

Namesake and Etymology

United States No.1 Pro Hero, Star and Stripe (real name: Cathleen Bate)

The ship was named after Cathleen Bate's hero name, Star and Stripe. She was the No. 1 Pro Hero and the most powerful Superheroine of the United States Federation who had fallen against the strongest evil superpower that she had never fought before. In honor of her, the gigacarrier is named after Cathleen's hero name.

the name "Star and Stripe", is also based on the nickname for the flag of USA.

History

Siren War lore

The USS Star and Stripe is the second ship of the United States Federation Nemesis-class gigacarrier. While the first ship of her class was built around 202X and launched in year 2030, she was built in an unknown time and launched in 204X.

Like it's ship class type, as a gigacarrier, USS Star and Stripe has an absurdly massive size. With the length of 404 meters and with 92 meters, her ship class has becoming the most largest operating ship of the United States Federation Navy, even surpassing the size of the USS Beast, the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier of the US Federation Navy which only has the length of 332 meters and width of 76 meters.

She is captained by Vice Admiral Rambley Brushstroke, A high-ranked naval officer of the US Federation Navy.

Siren War debut
She is participated in the Siren War, becoming a floating HQ of the United States Federation Navy and providing an extreme power to the allies, meanwhile the USS Argo being an aerial mothership and the aerial counterpart of the USS Star and Stripe. The USS Star and Stripe was reported that she was taking down many hostiles without even sinking at all, despite has taking so many damage, but it doesn't matter for herself thanks to it's humongously high health, making her "almost" impossible to sunk.

PSM carrier take-off

Lieutenant Zaine Coppermine "Zaineman"

At some time, the fighter pilot Lieutenant Zaine Coppermine (TAC name: Zaineman) initiating a carrier take-off in an extremely unique and shocking way! Piloting an F-22 Raptor, he and the pushback operator surprised the whole ship crew with a PSM take-off by simply dropping below. Presumed 'suicide', or the pushback operator just did a gruesome mistake, it turns out Lieutenant Zaine is fine and he flew his plane with AOA limiter turned off, and takeoff like usual. The whole crew finally relieved.

Battle of Maywar Arid Frontier
USS Star and Stripe was deployed in various mission operation. One of the known is she was deployed in a large scale amphibious assault mission in Maywar arid frontier codenamed "Operation Faithful Sand" to liberate Maywar Island. She provided air supports for the ground forces.

Battle of Stormy Sea (USS Star and Stripe tension moment)
Once during a sea operation, the USS Star and Stripe reportedly managed to survive a relentless onslaught that caused all the ships in her fleet to sink, leaving her alone. It was a very tense moment for the gigacarrier herself. Long story short, there was a fierce battle between the USS Star and Stripe alone against the onslaught of Siren troops. Even though she had received a lot of damage and was treated like a punching bag by the adversaries, she managed to repel the onslaught by mowing down all the Siren troops who attacked her completely and finally she succeeded in completing her mission but at the cost of her entire fleet. Then, she had to undergo a period of rest and repair until she recovered and finally returned to sailing to carry out her duties again.

Post-reparation
She then re-deployed again to her duty after she was recovered from her reparation period.

Ships in class (Siren War lore)

The US Federation Navy has two ships in the class. The lead ship of the class was decommissioned, and planned to undergoing modification and conversion to become an aircraft carrier spaceship in the future under the new name which is later on to be renamed as UNS Coral Sea.

List of Nemesis-class Gigacarrier (Siren War lore):

  • USS Nemesis (CV-01) - Decommissioned, planned to be converted into spaceship.
  • USS Star and Stripe (CV-02) - In service, currently deployed in Siren War.

Future ship of the Nemesis-class gigacarrier:

  • UNS Coral Sea (ex-USS Nemesis) - Planned future project of the US Federation spaceship aircraft carrier, a spaceship conversion of the decommissioned USS Nemesis (CV-01).

World War III lore - USS Nemesis (CV-01)

It was the year 1991. Mikhail Gorbachev never rose to power, and the ideals of Glasnost and Perestroika were never introduced. The USSR maintains its momentum by the determined proletariats and the manipulative leaders despite the economic downturn. The Cold War continued up to the 21st century, with both bellierents developing very promising technologies and ship designs.

During the year 2016, the Soviet Union introduced the rather obscure design details for the Project 23000e as a response to the United States' Gerald R Ford class. The West took this as a taunt by the Reds, and they refused to lag behind the extravagant arms race.

Months of brainstorming, countless papers and blueprints for proposed designs. Finally, after hundreds of fruitless concepts, United States resorted to a design of "very massive aircraft carriers", being promised to be more than twice the size of its predecessors. They came to a conclusion to build 400 meter long, 92 meter wide warships that will be intended to become the centerpiece of the navy.

Amongst them, the USS Nemesis, is intended to be the largest ship of the navy, codenamed Project 6754.5. Construction is expected to begin in March of 2025, with its launch date being projected to be in the year 2030 and commissioning in late 2032 (source: Modern Warships Wiki: USS Nemesis (CV-01) )

Ships in class (World War III lore):

Unlike the Siren War counterpart, the United States Navy only has 1 ship in the class during the World War III, due to its outrageously expensive cost. The limited usage of the ship making it's only being a floating HQ and superweapon intended for defense rather for an offensive usage, operating as the mothership of the US Navy.

List of Nemesis-class Gigacarrier (WWIII lore):

  • USS Nemesis (CV-01) - The mothership of the United States Navy.

Features:

  • Modern Warships-ish weapons.
  • Comes equipped with railgun cannons.
  • Autocannons.
  • Depth charges/grenade launchers.
  • Tons of Air defenses.
  • Missile-based Anti-Air System.
  • Launchable aircrafts.
  • Flares.

Disadvantages:

  • This build has more than 1000 parts count, and this is probably the first build in my list to pass 1000 parts. I shouldn't supposed to build with this much parts count.
  • In addition, because of huge scale rescaled by fine tuner, making it totally not mobile friendly because not only the lag due to the parts count, but also the huge scale parts could actually cooked up your device literally for real!.

Main disadvantages:

  • Exceptionally massive size and weight. Because of it, the ship has a worse mobility (very slow turning) and really darn slow speed.

Manual instruction:

  • Throttle = Move forward.
  • Brake = Brake.
  • S = Reverse (set throttle to 0 first).
  • A & D = Turn left & right.

  • CIWS may quite unprecision, but it will deal damage to anything who dare to come closer to it.
  • Automatically aim at your target.
  • Spacebar = Fire CIWS.

Sea RAM controls

  • Sea RAM fires AA missiles and will automatically aims at target, but requires lock on target.
  • Automatically aim at your target.

    • LAlt = Launch Sea RAM missile (must lock-on target).

Aircraft control

Fighter control

  • Control like normal, but lack of reticle and HUD makes it harder to navigate it's target.

Fighter armament

Main armament = Machine gun, deals damage to it's target.

Startup

  • AG7 = Turn on engine, disable/enable the vessel system, control the aircraft.
  • AG2 = Deploy fighter

Take-off

  • Make sure you are in full throttle.
  • Pitch up immediately, and fly like normal.

Controls

  • Normal flight control.
  • Spacebar = Fire weapons.

Strike fighter control

  • Control like normal, but lack of reticle and HUD makes it harder to navigate it's target.
  • The strike fighter is including the VTOL mode.

Strike fighter armament

Main armament = Machine gun, deals damage to it's target.
Secondary armaments = Projectiles, deals heavy damage to it's target, but delays for every few seconds once fired.

Startup

  • AG7 = Turn on engine, disable/enable the vessel system, control the aircraft.
  • AG3 = Deploy first aircraft.
  • AG4 = Deploy second aircraft.

Take-off

  • You are on VTOL mode by default
  • Full throttle.
  • Once it is high enough, retract your landing gear to turn off VTOL mode and fly like normal

Controls

  • Normal flight control.
  • Landing Gear = VTOL
  • Spacebar = Fire weapons.

VTOL controls

  • Landing Gear up = Disable VTOL.
  • Landing Gear down = Enable VTOL

Helicopter control

  • Helicopter is hard to control and having a weird, Modern Warships-like camera angle. Try to get used to the controls then you will be more comfortable with the controls

Helicopter armament

Main armament = (Gatling 20 mm) (deals damage to it's target).
Secondary armaments = Heavy weapons to destroy it's target (shoots 4 heavy projectiles but delays for every few seconds).

Startup

  • AG7 = Turn on engine, disable/enable the vessel system, control the aircraft.
  • AG5 = Deploy first helicopter.
  • AG6 = Deploy second helicopter.

CAUTION! When flying, do not turn off the engine at the mid-air or your helicopter will lose control and falling down.

Take-off

  • Full throttle.
  • Once it is high enough, set the throttle below 60 or 50.
  • Your helicopter should go airborne now, if the heli keeps going up you'll have to play with the throttle as well to create some balance (for hovering).

Controls

  • Normal flight control.
  • Throttle 50 = Fly low/hover.
  • Throttle 20 below = Go down.
  • Full throttle = Go up.
  • Spacebar = Fire guns.

DISCLAIMER! The usage of all of the aircraft is SINGLE USE. It is not possible to land your aircraft back to the ship. Once you're done with it, you have to either leave them away or "sacrifice" it.

Trivia

General

The actual size of USS Star and Stripe compared with MRNS Tsuchii Yuusha supercarrier (JS Zuikaku DDA-1).

USS Star and Stripe actual size in conparison with USS Beast aircraft carrier (credits goes to Inuyasha8215's USS Nimitz aircraft carrier for the model used to illustrate the USS Beast). Also keep on mind that these pictures are an illustration and the gigacarrier is in original size, while the other ships are descaled a little bit smaller to represent how huge the gigarrier actually is.

  • The size scale of the ship is seems to be inaccurate; actually, the size of USS Star and Stripe is larger than USS Beast, and the other large ships. But in the in-game size, the Ship size is much smaller than the USS Beast. I cannot make it even more larger because the game is unable to handle the size if the build can be larger. That's how Fine Tuner works...
  • The ship, if thought about, does look like a space carrier similar in style to the Space Battleship Yamato franchise.
  • The USS Nemesis, an aircraft carrier (or specifically a gigacarrier), is a fictional warship; and therefore does not have any actual history. The in-game model is heavily based on another fictional ship, the UNS Coral Sea.
  • The term "gigacarrier" is used for an aircraft carrier type which is above the supercarrier. The term "giga" leads to it's absurdly massive size that is larger than most average aircraft carrier size.

Siren War

  • The ship was named after Star and Stripe (real name: Cathleen Bate), the No. 1 Pro Hero of the United States of America. Originally, she is a character from Japanese manga/anime series, My Hero Academia.
  • The theme song is also derived from Star and Stripe theme herself as a honor.
  • The PSM takeoff moment is a reference to Yukikaze series, where an aircraft performing a unique post-stall maneuver takeoff on the aircraft carrier.
  • USS Star and Stripe will usually coming with B-21 Raider bomber formation in the sky. It is a reference how Star and Stripe in the series coming along with her air force escort.
  • The United States Federation is an allegory or the fictional counterpart of the real world United States of America but in SimplePlanes universe. So it is a theorical reason why the ship prefix in the game is USS (example: USS Beast). United States Federation can also inspired or referencing United Federation from the border inspector simulation game, Papers Please.
  • The badge of USS Star and Stripe is closely identical and resembles to the badge of the USS Barack Obama from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
  • The gigacarrier is nicknamed as "Mighty Bate". (It is much likely a portmanteau of "Mighty Mo" and "Cathleen Bate". Mighty Mo is a nickname for the US Navy battleship USS Missouri (BB-63))

Creator's note:

  • This is the first ever made build in my page which is has more than 1000 parts. As a low partism builder, I wasn't supposed to build with this much parts. It looks like I am started to being like L1nus for a high parts count.
  • But before you ask.

Yes, this is a Modern Warships reference!

    O’Say, can you see
    By the dawn's early light
    What so proudly we hailed
    At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
    Through the perilous fight
    O'er the ramparts we watched
    Were so gallantly, yeah, streaming?
    And the rockets' red glare
    The bombs bursting in air
    Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

@Dudewhattheheck the amount of parts, in addition with rescaled parts with Fine Tuner, making it totally not device friendly at all. You would need a beefy device in order to run this.

@Sarp17 That is just because how massive the scale is, some device might unable to handle that large size. Originally it should took a minute to load.
If you had a beefy device, then it could actually load pretty much faster i guess.
