Hwacha – Korean Fire Cart
The Hwacha (??, ??) was a revolutionary multiple rocket launcher developed in 15th-century Korea. Designed to unleash devastating volleys of rocket-propelled arrows, this weapon played a crucial role in defending the Korean Peninsula, particularly during the Imjin War (1592–1598) against Japanese invaders. Capable of launching up to 200 projectiles in a single barrage, the Hwacha was an early example of multi-shot artillery that combined firepower with mobility.
