Sparviero Island Bomber

39.1k Weaverfish  7.7 years ago

[Part of my scaled WW2 series - All aircraft built to scale, with accurate weights, speeds and flight characteristics to the original.]

The best known Italian aircraft of the war, this three engined medium bomber featured low set wings with high wing loading that gave it characteristics not dissimilar to a large fighter. Torpedo armaments turned this aircraft into the deadliest anti-shipping warplanes of the Mediterranean isles.

INSTRUCTIONS - TAKEOFF - Trim down (Tail trim). VTOL down (Bomb bay doors). Throttle up.

INSTRUCTIONS - CRUISING - Once in air, Gear up. Trim to neutral.

INSTRUCTIONS - BOMBING - Climb to 3,000ft. Over target, look down to targeting in Cam1. When target reaches the sharp top of white indicator, hit bomb drops. You MUST be flying level, at top speed. VTOL to +25% (opens doors) ACT1 to ACT5 drops each ordinance.

I don't think I've ever seen a Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 on the site before, nice build, keep it up!
