The C-100:

The C-100 was one of first jet airliners, and probably the first somewhat successful example, it was 85-100 seat short/medium range jet built alongside the smaller, short range C-50, and the larger medium range turboprop C-135 (soon).
The C-100 was sold widely to many carriers, replacing older, mainly piston aircraft or many different routes, It also served as the first jet for many carriers, including large ones, helping it gain popularity and fame.
The C-100 Served for many years, only being finally retired from civilian service recently, with many examples still flying in private/military hands and preserved in museums/private collections.
