J-8II (China code: J-8II,: Shenyang J-8II,NATO code: Finback, ) fighter aircraft, is a modified high-altitude high-speed fighter aircraft developed by Shenyang Aircraft Industry Corporation of China (Shenfei). On June 12, 1984, the J-8II prototype made its maiding flight. On March 18, 1988, the aircraft was designed, and on October 15, the military products training committee officially approved the design of the J-8II aircraft.After the 1970s, the design of fighter aircraft around the world changed, no longer pursuing "higher, faster", but focused on improving the aircraft's medium and low-altitude maneuverability, improve on-board electronic equipment, weapons and fire control systems.
