While the Great War may have ended in Europe, the great ambitions of Epic Engineering did not diminish. Using the lessons learnt so far, Cuthbert and Albert Epic set their sights on becoming a staple of the upcoming golden age of aviation.

Origin

While Albert was keeping the company afloat with sales of the civilian Broadsword, Cuthbert Epic disappeared from the public scene following the end of the Great War. With hostilities having ceased, the demand for combat aircraft outside of those from established national aircraft construction companies diminished. Seemingly at an impasse, with his specific expertise in fighter design no longer required, he retreated into obscurity until he was spotted at an air race in 1923. There, witnesses claim to have seen a spark in his eyes. Two years later, he was able to present the result of that moment of inspiration, unveiling the Regent. With the aura of luxury it exuded, most peers deemed it unfit to be a front line fighter in national air forces, however it was for that exact reason it found some success with wealthy Governors and Barons in the colonies who needed airborne ad hoc local security.

Design

The sleek lines of this staggered sesquiplane Biplane harkens to some of the most cutting edge racing aircraft of its day, but still fused with ruggedness and sturdiness expected from a combat ready fighter. Having finally had a breakthrough with a in-house synchronisation gear that could be called reliable, the two MGs this plane was shipped with were equipped with that. The heart of this craft was undeniably the very powerful inline engine which provided 439hp to a two-bladed wooden propeller.

Handling

The sturdy wing struts allowed pilots to pull very aggressive turns with ease, reducing the turning circle of this airplane significantly. Paired with the aforementioned engines which could accelerate this plane up to 278km/h, this plane was second to none in it's time when it came to dogfighting capability.

As always, thank you so much for your interest in our products. While this is a legacy product, aftermarket upgrades and modifications are still highly encouraged. If you still have any questions, feel free to ask.
