RZ-1 A-wing 'Vexis' A-2 Droid Turbolaser Mount
What do you get when you strap a Republic Venator style Turbolaser turret to an A-Wing and then give it the droid brain of the last Hyena Droid Bomber? You get the Vexis A-2 from Ace Wing. The second in a fighter wing comprised of the most unique ships. Although not a fighter itself, the Vexis is able to provide coverage from starfighters to medium sized cruisers, which makes it a valuable part of Ace Wing. Named after the peaceful serpent native to Pasaana, this Vexis has a far from peaceful past.
(To anyone new to my designs I am not referencing the Ace Combat games, nor is it related to that game)
This is flown the same as my other A-Wing so to save space, just read the how to fly for those. Just so you know it is very hard to activating the cannon while flying so I do not suggest doing so.
Now as for the cannon, it has a few quirks to it.
AG-4 turns on the henges for the compartment hiding the turret and the piston for raising it up.
WARNING: you must deactivate AG-8 before you do anything after this point.
Using TRIM you can open the compartment and raise the cannon.
Turn off AG-4 and then you can use AG-6 to activate the controls. TRIM controls the pitch and VTOL controls rotation. Just make sure when you're firing from the Beast that you have plenty of clearance
I want to give a bunch of thanks to Griffin1 for his technical support for the past 3-4 months. This thing would still be a unflyable on my old tablet if it wasn't for him I'm glad I could finish this and go on to other projects. I might be releasing a fixed paint version of the unaltered A-Wing later this week, so be ready for that.
