Budd RDC-1

105k RailfanEthan  8.3 years ago

Built by Budd as a useful and beautiful but simple, cheap passenger vehicle, the RDC-1 was the first of 5 different Rail Diesel Car. Complete with not one but two 250-300hp engines underneith, the RDC-1 was able to hold up to 90 passengers. Budd's successful design was wide spread, ranging from Alaska to South America. Being built in 1949, it's no surprise they are still used. Assembly was discountined in 1962, with a total of 398 built. Most of which were purchased by the Boston & Maine railroad, which later built "The Flying Yankee" using the body panel parts.

1-3 is lights, brake is brake (you know this) throttle is trim, and.. Enjoy!
