This game continues to amaze me. Just like real life the answer is 90 degrees of phase not 45. For those who are interested in the phase angle of a helicopter, it is the amount of degrees the blade change must be shifted back from the obvious. For example to pitch forward you would thing that the blade over the tail must have the highest pitch but this pitch change is actually completed 90 degrees before that even happens. this is because your blades are moving so fast that the lift created by the pitch change actually needs to catch up to the blade. The most amount of lift is still created over the tail, its just catching up to the blade's changing pitch. atleast thats how i think of it.
