The F4U Corsair is, in my humble opinion, one of the best fighter aircraft ever put to use in WWII. It proved invaluable in the Pacific War, crushing the Japanese and their vastly inferior A6Ms. It went on to be a very successful carrier-borne fighter. It wasn't always so, though. At first, the aircraft showed itself to be too problematic during carrier operations at sea. As a result, it was confined to land bases and was used by the Marines who fell in love with it, producing many aces. Surprisingly, it was the British who worked out the design flaws, making this awesome warbird capable of use on Allied aircraft carriers. Interestingly enough, the Corsair was the US Navy's first dedicated fighter-bomber aircraft, since there was enough room on the belly for an explosive device to be mounted there. This aircraft saw extended use around the world after WWII and was even used by the US in Vietnam. Sadly, as all technology is, it was made obsolete by newer technology and replace by faster and deadlier jet aircraft. Nevertheless, it remains an important piece of American aviation history and can be found in museums throughout the US. I've done some testing and found that when the fuel is below 40% and the bomb is dropped, landing on the USS Jundroo becomes significantly less difficult. Keep in mind that it's a carrier landing, so don't expect success on the first try. TOP SPEED: around 400 AG1: Bombs away!

@Allstarship as an action point of things I know you gave us millions of Sherman's that's what I said MURICA is good at mass production easy to fix good reliable machines american tanks are REALY good I am talking about an action point of view because you saw more action in the pacific that was basicly a completely different war and yes I know you guys dropped a metric but ton of bombs on Germany I. Your bombing campaign and your young american generation was wiped out at Omaha but we were in almost every theatre of war ext the pacific war ... Now remember america and BRITAN may not like each other that mutch but you do have to admire a tiny little island that took over the world at one point mabe it's just my veiw on american war films like fury look man we are cool don't take the battle to the nations take it to the machines spitfire Vs corsair Sherman vs Cromwell I hate starting arguments lol but I can help it cause i ❤️ Spitfires

Well, for one thing. The U.S gave a crap ton of stuff to Britain. There was 1940. Britain recieved 50 destroyers. I won't even mention the 17,000+ Sherman tanks they recieved, which was more than any of our other allies. There was the tens of billions of dollars-worth of shipments that were sent to the British. We sent ammunition and aircraft and fought alongside the Brits throughout the theaters of the war. And then after the war was through, you recieved billions in additional financial aid to rebuild your island because of the Marshall Plan. But despite all of this, we "didn't really do anything" @PlanesOfOld

I'm curious to hear about this "perfected spitfire's" stats. Plz tell the specific year and mark. We can simply compare it to the Most advanced corsair at that time. Also, no single country one the war. The Germans were very strong and are pretty much the best country, militarily, in all of Europe, all history considered. Besides, because Britain was recieving aid and what not from the U.S, Germany declared war on us too. Without the americans' involvement in Europe, Great Britain probably would've been rekt. What do you have against americans? We're not all the same person, so please refrain from using those very generalized statements that you often do. @PlanesOfOld

@PlanesOfOld I looked it up, according to the armed forces museum, the corsair was the plane with the best handling, firepower, maneuvering, visibility, and overall performance of any WWII plane.

Dang... this one for by me too. Sorry man. This looks really good. I'm digging the paint scheme. It feels nice in the air too. I feel like you did a good job accurately capturing the essence of this aircraft. Good work.

It's alright carter. I started off making small, poorly made aircraft, like many of us. Getting to be a good builder is a progressive experience. It doesn't happen overnight. If you really want to get better at this game, it's in your hands @carter2
