History: In 1945, the Gurevusky company was founded (later renamed to the Gurevusky OKB). Their first aircraft was essentially a liscense built In-102, but they made minor changes. The NATO reporting name was "Gryphon-A", named after the Greek myth (the Gryphon in myth, and subsequently in reality, a rare sighting). The Gv-1 went through many variations, but the Gv-1 was the most produced (over 16,000 were built and 12,00 saw active service). The last Gv-1 was pulled from active service in 1998, where it was serving in the Finnish Air Force.
