RJ - Sturgeon F1 5.7
Introduction
Please note this aircraft, story and relating items are completely ficticious and any comments are meant in jest.
Following IndyRef2 Nicola Sturgeon got her wish, Scotland is now independent from the UK but now they have a problem, how will they protect their airspace from foreign invaders? NS approached Rambo "Jock" Jutter Ltd. to come up with plans for a primarily air defence aircraft to operate out of Scottish Air Force Leuchars, Lossiemouth, Prestwick etc. (yes 3 total aircraft due to budget restrictions)
RJ fullfilled the design request with a canard twin engine supersonic fighter, sound familiar? (cough, not a Typhoon, cough). The design required an airframe that was flexible in its ability to carry a variety of second hand ordinance procured from numerous small airforces from around the globe, it had to be able to land and takeoff in a relatively small space in case of use on smaller secondary airfields and it had to encompass modern concepts in regards to reduction of radar cross section (which is then completely ruined by external weapons pylons just like on the F35 etc...)
Controls
AG1 = Reheat
AG2 = Airbrakes
AG4 = Drop tank
AG7 = Eject
AG8 = Turn off enginer (on by default to 2% throttle)
VTOL down = flaps and slats
TRIM = normal ops. tab down for pitch up
note 1:
Engine is automatically started (2% throttle) when loaded in to represent a QRA (quick reaction alert) launch
note 2:
This aircraft is not carrier based or accredited (but you can land on beast - try it at your own risk)
note 3:
Only basic funkyplants are used on this build as im not capable of maths beyond degree level structural mechanics
Takeoff instructions
• VTOL: Half down to set T/O Flaps
• TRIM: neutral to half down for T/O SET (depending on length of takeoff required)
• THROTTLE: 100%
• AG1 activate once T/O roll commenced
NOTE: During T/O roll make small heading adjustments with yaw inputs. Nose Wheel Steering is automatically disengaged for safety reasons around 100kts.
• Rotate aircraft around 150kts - 200kts IAS
• Establish climbing attitude 20° - 45° NOSE-UP (Depending on urgency of launch)
• Crossing 300ft - GEAR UP
• VTOL: MIDDLE for Flaps in UP position
• TRIM: Adjust as required
• THROTTLE / AG1: Adjust for cruising flight @ 400kts IAS
• Continue Flight
Landing
Reduce Airspeed to 250kts IAS (dont go lower than 200kts)
• Align with Runway at 1.500 ft Altitude and 2NM distance
• AG2: Activate for Air-brakes extension
• GEAR DOWN for LDG extension
• THROTTLE: 15-30% (depends on speed / airbrakes etc.)
• TRIM: Adjust for 1°-5° Nose Up
• Establish reasonable Rate of Descent (4-5 m/s)
• Maintain Airspeed
• Make corrections using small THROTTLE and TRIM movements (~1-3%)
• 20ft before Touchdown apply Flare technique and use aerodynamic breaking (keep the nose high)
• At Touchdown: THROTTLE – 0%
• When all wheels on ground and airspeed below 120kts IAS - APPLY FULL BRAKES
• At speed below 25kts IAS use Nose Wheel Steering
• Maintain ground directional stability with slight yaw inputs
Weapons
In this instance the aircraft is armed with 4no custom AIM-9B Sidewinders and a single 27mm MAuser BK-27 revolver cannon. This loadout is variable to the users requirements

This aircraft looks far too modern to only utilize aim 9bs. And how the heck can an aim 9b lock a target behind itself 😂
@Mattvan28 Thanks, glad you liked it, i was happy with the way it turned out. I might do another version at somepoint.
Not a typhoon kinda like how a j10 isnt an f16 . This keeps me up at night . Simple yet striking, serious yet fun , function over form only if the form surpasses the function. Super nice . Will play with this repeatedly.
Reminds me a lot of the F-19 Stealth Fighter
This is absolutely astounding!!
.
I made a design kinda like this a while back, and holy crap I wish I could build as good as you
Beautiful build once more, I have 1x issue with this concept. The greens (in case nobody knows Scottish politics) are in coalition with the snp and would object on the grounds its not powered by fairy dust! ( hippies troll me now and then go back to your carbon footprint heavy smart phones and soy latte that some poor child laboured 12 hour days for you :).....)
Good build old bean!
