DF-3 TB Fictional US WWII Naval Fighter
This is the naval variant of the DF-3. The navy wanted their own version of the DF-3. The navy got their wish in February of 1942 when the first batch of the DF-3 TBs rolled out. Armed with 8 rockets, a torpedo, and 6 .50 cal machine guns this plane can chew through lightly armored ships and have something to defend itself with. These saw action at Coral Sea where pilots said it has a tendency to stall easily when doing maneuvers a pure air to air fighter would make. Since this plane was designed to go in, blow the enemy to smithereens and get out that wasn’t a primary concern. More development time was put into balance. This particular plane likes to pitch up and was built before the balance fix.
This was based on the air to air DF-3 and was not intended to go into the building challenge but now I guess it will. This serves for the United States counterpart Iosia. They forgot to repaint them after ordering so the navy logo is still there.
