The Grumman F4F Wildcat is a mid winged carrier-based monoplane fighter that fought the Imperial Japanese fighters in the second world war. The Grumman F4F Wildcat originally was planned to be another Bi-plane just like the Grumman F3F but there were other companies presenting carrier-based monoplane designs which had pressured Gurmman to also make a monoplane design to stay in the market.
