The first generation air defense UCAV from Shirohana Unmanned Division born from project SPADe (Self Piloting Air Defense).
It is designed to be an intermediate between air defense missiles and interceptor aircraft.
SPADe launchers are designed to mimic standard 40 ft shipping containers which allows for the defense of key logistics hubs without any immediate detection of air defense systems by spy satellites. It utilizes a Magnetic Rail Launch system similar to a railgun.
The SPADe-00 is designed as a disposable weapons system, but recovery is possible. The UCAV's underbelly can be used as a landing skid once the threat has been neutralized, allowing it to land on concrete or soft flat areas. In addition, 16 shots of flares give it some survivability against heat seeking missiles, but is vulnerable to radar missiles due to the lack of chaff.
It is best used in swarms as its armament does not permit for BVR engagements. It is only armed with four (4) SRM-1s effective only up to 5km and a single 20mm cannon. Alternatively, it could be used to aid conventional fighter aircraft in repelling threats.
