Description

The MLU, or Mid-Life Update, was a modernization program dedicated to upgrading the F-16s used by several European air forces. These upgrades raise the technological level of the planes to that of more modern Block-50 and Block-52 F-16s.

The Airframe

E-190, serial number 78-0190, started its service with the Royal Danish Air Force in 1981 as a Block-10 airframe, serving in multiple Eskadroner (squadrons). It suffered a bird strike in 1996, but it was repaired and put back into service. At some point between the bird strike and 2000, it was upgraded to a Block-20 MLU. Throughout the 2010s, the plane took part in the Air Policing of the Baltic States, and in has continued serving as of 2020.

@Gabriel747 If this is you telling me what happened, then RIP our fallen pilot, they will be missed. If this is you asking me, then as I said, I don’t know anything regarding them, only that they deleted their SP page.

@Gabriel747 They are all actually based on Tsuchiisan’s F-16C, with some modifications such as landing gear and ventral fins. Sadly though, since Tsuchiisan left (DISCLAIMER: I do not know about their whereabouts of why they left), all their planes were taken down. I had saved their planes before their departure, though. A few months ago, I decided to make all these F-16s for myself, primarily with some other modifications such as the RWR length and the intake size, as well as ones made for prototypes such as the F-16XL or F-16 CCV. After my Project Wingman ACG-01 Chimera was released, I decided I’d give it a shot with the F-16s, and so, here we are today. In the first F-16 post, I also explain the Tsuchiisan Plane story there as well.
