@stig27 or with other words: the empire loses because of stupid tactics. and the first order has the better navy doktrin.
@Irobert55 Well, an TIE fighter only needs a shot passing to close on the connector between the wing and the cockpit to snap out that wing, whilst an carrier was often a Star destroyer, that needs to be shot by an ion cannon or a B-Wing charge shot just to deplete the shield.
@stig27 it isnt that simple: you only need some luck to kill of a lot of TIEs. theyre not able to survive at theyr own. take out the carrier and you won.
@Irobert55 yup, but that’s the story of rebellion vs empire all over again: they send thousands of TIE fighters, the rebellion crushes them with a couple hundred X-Wings.

@Datom Well, if the stormtroopers had an normal person accuracy, most of the films protagonists would be stone dead a little after the beginning.

Answer : anything has better aim than a stormtrooper :)
its the most laugable tank of all of star wars. its a tie fighter in tracks: no defensive shields and only strong in groups.
