The Spark was the USS's first strategic bomber built after the Crumbling. It's purpose was to enable the possibility of high-endurance patrols on replaceable aircraft. These patrols, intended to either stop and potentially sink unauthorized interoceanic ships, are part of the USS' zealous monopoly on inter-oceanic trade.
These aircraft are, however, configured as bombers as Sparks are also used to strike on targets far away from the coast. While it's available as a landplane, this aircraft is only provided to trustworthy allies and, as such, is mostly operated this way during campaigns from land-based colonies.
