Fokker T9 (late variant)
As the title reads, this plane is the Fokker T9, and the last bit is true but it is a very late variant of the original plane. the original shape is sill there but i added new weapons, a new turret on the back and som other things, most of them are things you would likely see on modern or post war planes.
Soms technical information:
First of all this plane did not exist in this form, the Fokker t9 is a real plane but as far as i know it never carried modern equipment. I also changed some things from the original design to make it fly in simpleplanes, for example the amount of proppelor blades. The overall plane is also very slow, it is nearly impossible to reach 200mph.
Weapons:
- 8x Zuni rockets
- 2x unguided rocket propelled bombs
- 2x bombs
- 2x double mg turrets (front and behind cockpit)
small story about the plane (fictional):
the year is about 1939 and with germany invading poland, the dutch army needed some additional firepower and so they began upgrading their old equipment. the Fokker T9 was one of the plans which the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) had planes for to upgrade. Unfortunaly the Netherlands got invaded not shortly after this plan was made so all the plans to upgrade old equipment had to be put down.
Fast forward to 1945 in which the old plans to upgrade the army had been resumed. The execution of the plan however went a lot slower than expected, money was needed for other projects (reconstructing the country etc.) so the project was halted again and delayed to when the money and time was there.
Fast forward again to ~1960 where the first prototype was finished, some things have been changed in comparison to the first plans for the new plane but the original was still there. it now has a pair of experimental unguided heavy rockets, a pair of Zuni rockets and 2 bombs located in a bomb-bay. By the time the first prototype was completed, the plane was heavily outdated, way to slow and there were much more reliable options available at the time, so the idea, along with the plane, were scrapped.
Important information:
the rockets under the engines are originally designed as take-off-rockets, the plane can fly without them but the take of is a little bit hard so i added these to help with the take off.
controls:
- Turret front, ag1 (activate) + VTOL
- Turret top, ag2 (activate) + VTOL
- bomb bay, ag3 (activate) + VTOL down
- heavy unguided rockets, ag4, ag5
- Zuni rockets, manual fire button
- bombs, ag3 (activate), manual fire button
