The GE U50 locomotive is a diesel-electric for Union Pacific Railroad in the need of high horsepower locomotives. Built from 1963 until 1965. There were 26 units produced and are scrapped.

Kind of interesting but these locos actually had a very short life as they were replaced by EMD's 8-axle DD40Xs only four years later which also ended up being retired about 10 years after being built for U.P.
