Flys well and the feathering wings work with VTOL controls. They can be used as elevators but do actually work as a free-fall stabiliser. Fly to over 40,000 feet and cut the engine - deploy the feather upwards and you will fall in a stable configuration. The feathered wing can be levelled again to resume normal flight.

You can but not for long as it forces the nose up. It’s really just to stabilise it in free-fall and it works perfectly. @asteroidbook345
