Description


Smirnov SM-30 (NATO reporting name "Chaser") is a Soviet twin-engine airliner, designed in 2007 by Smirnov design bureau in Leningrad as a main competitor to the Tupolev Tu-204/214 airliner. Intended to replace airliner Tupolev Tu-154.
The design is a two-engined low-wing monoplane with a circular pressurised fuselage and a conventional tail. Equipped with two high-bypass ratio Nikolayev VN-30 jet engines, each providing a takeoff thrust of 18000 kgf (176.5 kN, 39,700 lbf)
Smirnov SM-30 is developed in parallel with the Smirnov SM-32 and they are highly unified
