About Bonza:
Bonza Aviation Pty Ltd, operating as Bonza, was a short-lived Australian low-cost airline, headquartered on the Sunshine Coast. Founded in October 2021, Bonza commenced operations on 31 January 2023. The airline entered voluntary administration on 30 April 2024 suspending all services, after several aircraft were repossessed. It was placed in liquidation on 2 July 2024 after laying off its workforce and failing to find a buyer.

About the Boeing 737 MAX:
The Boeing 737 MAX is the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, a narrow-body airliner manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It succeeds the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) and competes with the Airbus A320neo family. The series was announced in August 2011, first flown in January 2016, and certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in March 2017. The first 737 MAX delivered to a customer was a MAX 8 to Malindo Air, which accepted and began operating the aircraft in May 2017.

About VH-UJT:
VH-UJT was the first of 8 Boeing 737-8 MAX’s to fly in the Bonza fleet. This, along with the 7 others, were used to fly to obscure destinations from their hubs at Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Sunshine Coast. This aircraft’s name was “Shazza”.
This specific aircraft had its first flight on 12/92019, is 5.3 years old, and was tested at Renton Municipal Airport (RNT/KRNT) with the test registrations N1786B, and N5515X. Its Manufacturer Serial Number (MSN) is 62533, and its line number is 7722.
