Overview: the B800 "Thrasher" is an experimental flying-wing glider, and is the first Venture Aeronautics aircraft to rely entirely on adverse drag for stability, instead of vertical stabilizers. The aircraft features split-elevons and a tandem landing gear arrangement, as well as a bubble canopy.
FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS
Maximum Airspeed (TAS): 150mph, 241kph, 130knots.
Maximum Altitude (UNPRESSURIZED): 12,500ft, 3,810m.
Takeoff Airspeed (IAS): ~50mph, ~81kph, ~44knots. (Use SetWindSpeed 0 3 0
for sustained flight after takeoff/detachment.)
Landing Airspeed (IAS): ~35mph, ~56kph, ~30knots. (Use SetWindSpeed 0 0 0
for landing.)
Controls:
- Trim: Trim.
- Brake: Airbrakes.
- Activate1: Detach Towplane Cable.
NOTES
- The towplane will automatically climb. The towplane does not have pitch control.
- Do not attempt to perform a turn while being towed. Both aircraft will begin to drift uncontrollably. Only use roll input for small adjustments while being towed.
- Yawing the sailplane too much can lead to destabilization.
- Avoid stalling the sailplane, as doing so will result in a sudden pitch-up and the sailplane will be difficult to recover from the stall.
