F39A (Serval)
Export Variant Specifications—-
The Serval A does not have weapons inside of the weapons bay, only 2 interceptors mounted on the wing tips. The internal weapons bay is solely up to you to decide how you fill it. There are other changes in which i will not get into, simply put this version is plain and simple.
Welcome to the Serval platform. Firstly, allow me to explain its origins and how i’ve level’d this aircraft from 4th + to 5th generation.
The TF-41 Eclipse is this aircrafts Predecessor, i wanted to keep this aircraft as close to its roots as possible. And the Eclipse was a Naval Fighter that could be used as a trainer to teach new incoming pilots on a simple, small fast and agile platform. Now, the F39 Serval is bigger, and heavier, but you will hardly notice given its performance. The Serval is what the Eclipse was intended to be, a great dogfighter that had astonishing air to air capability. Do not underestimate the performance due to its size. I can assure you, its more than the Eclipse was in every metric.
IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE TF-41 PLATFORM —
The F39 Serval platform is faster, turns very well and without an afterburner turns far better than the Eclipse could under the same conditions, improved weapons capacity which allows for versatility in missions where there are little options available. The introduction of reverse thrusters allow for a faster deceleration when landing on or off of a carrier. This was done to mitigate the aircrafts fast landing speed, since the Reverse Thrust (RT) is tied to the brakes under Action Group (AG) 2, when you need to come to a full stop, simply deactivate the thrusters, and you are back to the simple braking system that was on the Eclipse.
SIMILARITIES —
The cockpit keeps the same lay out as the Eclipse for simplicity and ease of use for pilots upgrading to this new platform. The wing design has stayed similar, though some changes were needed, such as the front stabilisers on the Eclipse became canards for the Serval; which aid in its turning and STOL handling tremendously.
Action Groups —-
AG1 - Weapon bay. (Must be open to fire missiles, otherwise self destruction)
AG2 - Turns on the reverse thrusters which are activated using the brakes.
AG3 - Deploys the refueling probe
AG4 - N/A - free to use.
AG5 - Deploys the hook for naval landings.
AG6 - Deploys parachutes
AG7 - Opens the Cockpit
AG8 - Internal lights
