F/A-18C Blue Angel
Thank you everyone for getting me to Gold!
Happy Easter or April Fools Day! I promised I'd make a Blue Angels varient of my recent Hornet and here it is! It has the same features of my old Hornet like the tailhook, refueling probe, folding wings but this time has an unmodded smoke trail. Enjoy the beauty of the Blue Angel.
I'd like to thank Razor3278 for helping me find EliteArsenal24's "Dispensable Smoke Trail Nozzle" and AgDynamics for his "AG Sans Serif" aircraft text. Links will be below.
To activate the smoke trail, switch to Air to Ground mode and fire the rocket. The more you fire the rocket, the thicker the trail will be. Use caution as too much will slow the Sim Speed
There is a bit of roll to the right and I think it's because of aerodynamic drag caused by the letters on the underside of the wings. I can't mirror it or one side would be inverted so I had to get it as close as possible. I disabled the mass on the letters so I think it is drag. If you know how to fix this I'd love to know.

@greasytortle you can set CalculateDrag to false
I've crashed six times so far but it's flying well
I like it
@greasytortle cam you make a vr version?
@SweetMuffins it did
Blue angel 6, isn't that the one that crashed
cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice plane
@Dizzle2233 Yeah That's because the lettering on the underside of the wing creates asymmetric drag. I don't know a way to disable drag but I did disable the mass on those parts. My other Hornets don't have this problem to that extent, although the refueling probe does rock them a little bit.
For some reason when I fly it it rolls to the right slowly
I have seen the the blue angels heres an up vote
SU 47 forward wings
@Tang0Down The Russian F-22 or the SU-47 with the forward swept wings?
wew
Noice!
yup, you sould try a SU 57. its the Russian plane with weird wings.
@Tang0Down I built this as a very slight variation of my F/A-18C Hornet which I packed
as many features as I could into. I'm planning on making a Super Hornet soon. The tricky part is the intake shape as it may be hard to replicate.
And almost forgot to upvote!
Yea I’m on mobile so gotta fly, and tap buttons. Must stunt planes and Blue Angels don’t have this detail.
@Tang0Down Thanks! if you have some sort of XML mod you can set inputs to "Activate1" through "Activate 8" to make toggleable controls. I never liked having to press a button, slide the VTOL, then press the button again and once I learned how I'm never going back.
Finally a great stunt plane! Nice work on the detail.
Also I really like how every AG has a use.
And the folds wings, really nice build.
@AmazingAidan Yeah that's definately my biggest fear at any airshow. They're doing so many dangerous maneuvers that could easily turn into a disaster if the pilot makes one wrong move. Coincidentally I've had multiple dreams of planes crashing and almost hitting me. It might have something to do with a Cessna crashing into my friends house back in middle school. It created a small blackout in his neighborhood.
One of the blue Angels did die in there plane because of crashing
This is a good aircraft that does not cost too much CPU.
@CRJ900Pilot I feel honored :)
