Democractic P-37A Lightningbolt
Max speed: 390 mph at Sea Level (S.L.), 400 mph at 15,000'. Service ceiling: 30,000'. Approach speed: 150mph. During the Great International War, the P-37A, built around its 2000 hp, turbo-supercharged radial engine, was renowned for its performance, firepower and ability to absorb battle damage and bring its pilots home. The Allied Powers "lent" Jundroo 24 of these warhorses, but unfortunately for JAF fighter jocks, their time was spent patrolling the Jundroo Straits for a threat which never materialized. If ever it did, Jundroo flyboys joked they could unstrap and run around the cavernous fuselage to avoid enemy fire! Surprisingly, supersonic compressibility effects seems to have no impact as the straight wing prop fighter can dive at speeds up to 600 mph with no hazard, experiencing only a gentle pull up during high speed dives!
