CONTROLS: It should takeoff gradually between 70-80% throttle and cruises well with a little forward input on the pitch control and at 100% throttle (the VTOL slider does nothing). It can move very quickly for a helicopter in SimplePlanes and is highly manoeuvrable at greater speeds. As you'd expect, it's got a tonne of air-ground weapons so can handle most missions without any problems. With a little practice, it can be very stable in the hover (around 70% throttle) so can pop up from behind a hill and destroy AA tanks with ease (best way to complete 'Bridge Demolition'). Threw this up in the space of a day so there are bound to be problems, but I hope it works out alright. Have fun :D HISTORY LESSON: By the mid 1980s, the Soviet military council had decided that the Mi-24 would no longer fulfil attack helicopter specifications of the future, so something new was needed to replace it in this role. The two main competitors for this contract were the Mil design bureau and the Kamov team; the latter of which having previously found success with Co-axial designs for the Navy. Inspired in part by the American AH-64 in its layout and tail rotor design, Mil submitted the bulky Mi-28 "Havoc" towards the competition, while Kamov presented a radical and modern looking machine then known as the "V-80" to the Military council. Highly unusual in attack helicopters, the V-80 only had a crew of 1 pilot who had to manage engines, navigation and weapons systems without assistance. As it happened, the council found favour with both designs but decided the V-80 had better anti tank capabilities so was pressed into larger scale production. Both helicopters began manufacture in 1987, though the V-80 received higher priority. This machine became the KA-50 in time and received the popular name "Black Shark" thanks to its appearance in a TV show of the same name with it in the starring role. Following the collapse of
