The fuhrer sent a letter to krupp, saying that "if the ratte would go on full rampage in tge frontlines, it would need escort." krupp responded with this, the maus prototype which is the mauser was made a king variant (just like the tiger) but, it is armed witg 5 inch naval guns (from the Bismarck) and had 3 Anti Air position. and a 105 mm hull gun,and a bomb layout simmillar to the bt-5 with a rocket (i forgot) it had simmilarities to the ratte, and it was somewhat slower than the ratte due to smaller room for a reliable engine. But is is the best they could make because the ratte's 1st mission was about to take place next month, on the battle for moscow (they got pushed back a bit since forces had to focus on stalingrad and leningrad).
