Backstory:

Some time after the dust of the cataclysm has settled, about a few years before Rex Lapis would fake his death in the Rite of Descension, Rex aerospace set out to develop an experimental fighter by integrating annular/ring wings with a wedge shape for lower RCS.

The wind tunnel experiments experiment would prove to be successful, and development continued on what is now the X-57. Two unarmed models were made for flight testing, and they proved to be maneuverable and stable. The gap in the wing also helped somewhat reduce its radar cross section from directly above or below.

The success of the X-57 experiment will be used in future Rex Aerospace projects, but the unarmed prototypes have nowhere to go. This caught the attention of the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, Lady Ningguang.

She had deep pockets and purchased one to be repurposed as a leisure craft.

The most expensive part of the retrofitting was coating the aircraft in fine Liyue gold for most of its parts and silver on the wing tips and tail tips, just to show how rich Lady Ningguang is. The gold coating did not affect the aircraft performance aside from weight, especially from the transparent protective coating meant to prevent the gold and silver from stripping off in high speed flights.

The aircraft was destroyed in the battle with Osial as the Jade Chamber was dropped on the sea monster
